1000-Lb. Sistersstar Amanda Halterman is giving fans a long-awaited update on her recent medical woes.
In a new Instagram post shared in the early morning hours on Tuesday, April 8, the TLC star told fans she "finally got some dang answers" to the "crazy symptoms" she's been experiencing lately.

"Turns out I ain’t just bein’ dramatic," Halterman wrote in her post, which featured a selfie taken from her hospital bed. "I had to dig into my own medical mess like a dang detective, ’cause five years ago—yeah, five, the number of grace—I was goin’ through somethin’ real similar. And you know what they told me back then? ‘You’re just fat. Lose some weight and it’ll all go away.’ Mmmhmm. Well guess what? It didn’t."

Halterman, who is a half-sister to 1000-Lb. Sisters stars Amyand Tammy Slaton, has undergone a massive weight-loss transformation in recent years, shedding off roughly 300 pounds.
"My body don’t work like everybody else’s. It’s stubborn, it’s complicated—it’s ME," Halterman continued in her post, without sharing any explicit details about the exact illness or condition she's been dealing with.
"Moral of the story: Don’t give up on yourself," the TV personality added in her post. "And don’t let nobody tell you your symptoms ain’t real just ’cause of your size [or] because it’s normal for other people."
"Amen to the Amanda!!!" one of her fans cheered her on in the Instagram comments.
"Speedy recovery," someone else added.
