Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar has been fined for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the IPL 2025 match against Mumbai Indians (MI). Rajat Patidar was slapped with a fine of ₹12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during his team's recent victory over the Mumbai Indians.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a thrilling 12-run win over Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on Monday, April 7. The victory was their third of the IPL 2025 season. The Bengaluru-based team lost only one match, which came at home against the Gujarat Titans at the Chinnaswamy Stadium last week.
RCB Skipper Rajat Patidar Fined for Slow Over-Rate
The IPL issued an official statement confirming that Rajat Patidar has been fined ₹12 lakh for a slow over-rate. It was RCB’s first offense of the season under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
"Royal Challengers Bengaluru Captain Rajat Patidar has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match No. 21 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai," the IPL statement read.
"As this was his team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.2 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Patidar was fined INR 12 lakhs."
