Dove Cameron is getting candid about her mental health.

"I really haven't felt that way for quite awhile. I feel very lucky, and I have a lot of support systems in place where I truly hope and I don't think I will ever get there again," she said. "But of course, depression is something that is possible for anyone, and I'm not gonna be so bold as to say it could never, ever happen again. I truly hope that the practices I put in place and the way I live my life now and what I've learned about myself keeps me very far away from those darkest times."
Some of those practices include journaling, stretching and going to the gym "mostly for connection with my body [and because] I know I deserve to feel good."

"I was in a place of neglecting myself when I was younger. I was doing things for all the wrong reasons, and now I feel like I do things to honor the fact that I'm alive, right? I want to be alive. I want to be here, and as long as I'm here and alive and healthy, I want to do things that bring me joy and connect with myself, so definitely exercise," she said, adding that it's about "listening to my needs" and "being honest about where I'm at and if I need a day or if I need time."
"I have really great boundaries at this point in my life," she told Parade.
In addition to reflecting on her mental health, Cameron said she "felt really good" about headlining the "Everything Must Go" concert, which was presented by Wells Fargo.
"I felt like I had really good energy. It was really really fun!" she said. "I don't know how much money we raised, but I did hear that we sold out everything in the first two minutes, which I was so pleasantly surprised and so honored to be partnered with NAMI for this. Really, really, really honored."
