American Idol alum Clay Aiken and his son, Parker, recently stepped out for a rare joint red carpet appearance—and fans couldn't believe how grown-up the teenager was.
On April 5, Clay, 46, and his 16-year-old son attended the opening night of BOOP! The Musical in New York City.

The father-son duo sported nearly identical grins as they posed for photos on the red carpet. Clay donned a blue turtleneck with a burnt orange and white striped blazer overtop and gray pants. Meanwhile, Parker rocked a black suit and pants with a black-and-white patterned shirt.
For some of the photos, Clay and Parker posed with David Foster, who composed the music for the Broadway musical. Foster's sister, Jaymes, is Clay's best friend and Parker's biological mother; the American Idol Season 2 runner-up welcomed Parker with her via IVF in 2008.

Fans were both thrilled and in disbelief over the rare glimpse of the teen.
One person wrote, "Oh my God wait a minute Clay has a 16 year-old son… Oh my God I’m old!!" as another admitted, "I can’t believe he’s 16 already."
Another speculated, "Guess who stole the show here? We know it was Parker!?."
Someone else shared, "It’s wonderful to see you stepping out with your son! Parenting a teenager is something else isn’t it?"

Others marveled over the strong familial resemblance, with one Instagram user exclaiming, "holy s--t. parker looks just like his father!!!!!" and another declaring, "TWINS."
Meanwhile, some hoped Parker would follow in Clay's musical footsteps.
"If he has a voice like his dad, and his uncle as a producer ??," one person pointed out.
Yet another shared, "So great to see this! Parker is certainly a very handsome young man. Music is in his genes wonder if he will pursue it?"
