Valerie Bertinelli took a walk down memory lane with her latest update on social media, sharing throwback photos from one of her lesser-known roles as she declared how "grateful" she is for the life she has.

The Hot in Cleveland star took to Instagram on April 4 to share photos from the 1988 TV movie Pancho Barnes, in which she portrayed legendary aviator and stunt pilot Florence "Pancho" Barnes, who had an impressive career, even breaking Amelia Earhart's world women's speed record in 1930.

Bertinelli began the caption by sharing a quote attributed to Barnes, "When faced with a choice, choose happy," saying, "That quote has been my mantra since filming this glorious woman’s biopic."

She recalled training to ride a horse and fly a plane for the movie, sharing, "Hopping in the biplane, sneaking up during lunch with our stunt pilot to do death drops and twirls in the sky until the producers put a stop to it."

Bertinelli concluded with the reflective message, "It’s never lost on me how lucky I am to have lived the life I have lived. And I am nowhere near done. ? I am so grateful ?."

In the photos, a young Bertinelli looked unrecognizable, rocking a wavy bob haircut under a beret while wearing a striped button-up shirt, a unique tie and a leather bomber jacket, perfectly fitting in with the 1930s era of the film.

Pancho Barnes was a made-for-TV movie that also starred Ted Wass, James Stephens and Cynthia Harris. At the time it was released, Bertinelli was about 28 and she had finished up her star-turning role in One Day at a Time a few years earlier.
