The Greeley Philharmonic Youth Orchestra is set to perform its spring concert 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the First Congregational Church, 2101 16th St., Greeley.
The youth orchestra will perform Vivaldi’s “Autumn” with the solo performed by Jubal Fulks, a University of Northern Colorado violin professor.
Antonio Vivaldi was an Italian composer who was born March 4, 1678, and died July 28, 1741. He wrote over 500 concertos during his lifetime, with around 350 of them created for solo instrument and strings.
Along with Vivaldi’s work, Dylan Fixmer, Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra composer-in-residence, will premiere two new works with the youth orchestra: “Crane Dance” and “Stormy Sea.”
