L&T will design, fabricate and install the platforms, as well as their power supplies and machinery. It will also build living quarters for the engineers who will run the compressor.
SN Subrahmanyan, the chair of L&T, said in a press statement that the “ultra-mega” deal was a “landmark achievement” that would strengthen the company’s energy portfolio and support Qatar’s economy. “We look forward to setting new benchmarks in project execution that will reinforce Qatar’s position as a global LNG leader,” he said.
L&T’s international orders now account for more than half of work won in the last quarter of 2024, and make up 42% of its pipeline.
Yesterday, the company announced that it had also won an order to install up a 765kV substation in western India and another order for the turnkey construction of a transmission line in the same region.
In addition, it won an order for two 130km transmission lines to supply the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh.
The company noted that the orders showed its “continued momentum” in the electricity grid sector.
