Robert Irwin, the son ofTerriand Steve Irwin, shared a look at his latest daring animal rescue in a new video on social media.
The 21-year-old took to Instagram on April 1 to invite fans into the adventure, writing in the caption, "Giving this grumpy little bloke a helping hand out of harms way!" He added that there were a "Couple near misses ?," which were on display in the video as the snake tried to take a bite of the conservationist.

"Walking around the zoo at night and look who we found!" said Robert at the start of the video, introducing the carpet python snake that was slithering on the ground. He noted that the snake was letting out a hiss, calling him a 'little bit grumpy," before explaining that they needed to move him because he was close to the bird aviary, and there was "a good chance he might have a little munch of some of our birds."
"If he ends up in with any of the predatory animals we have, it might not end well for him. So it's best that we get him relocated," he added. Robert then explained and modeled how a snake will calm down once you support their body but still allow them to "move freely," allowing him to quickly grab the snake to release the next day.

In the morning, Robert had hold of the snake as they tried to safely release him in another area, but it seemed like the creature was a little grumpier than before, trying to take a bite of him a couple of times. He smoothly sidestepped the encounter, laughing and saying, "You gotta untangle first there, darling."
Fans shared appreciation—and some concern—for Robert, such as one who wrote, "Ooof you gotta watch those fangs eh! Good job." Another said, "I love how well you understand these animals, good on your brother. You certainly are your dad‘s son!!!"
The kind comments kept coming, with a third saying, "What a beautiful spirit Robert has. Truly a product of a loving family. ❤️."
