A "brilliant" concept for a Krispy Kreme at-home product—Krispy Kreme Original Glaze Doughnut Spread—that turned out to be an April Fools joke has fans begging for it to be made into a reality.
Popular foodstagrammer Snackolator resurfaced a prank from 2021 leading into April 1, 2025, and it's clear that donut lovers are just as desperate now to get their hands on the delectable sounding, though currently imaginary, treat as they were four years ago.
"There are few things I would not do to get a jar of Krispy Kreme doughnut glaze," the blogger wrote on Instagram alongside a mockup of the "both amazing and crushing" idea. "This is on the Mount Rushmore of 'April Fools Day ideas that need to be made immediately,'" they added, and followers were in stark agreement.

Still, they had fun brainstorming uses for the spread, should it ever come to fruition.
"This in coffee or on toast or to use as a glaze for cinnamon rolls or cupcakes?," one wrote, while another suggested "this as a dip for soft pretzels ?."
"Here I was thinking if cookies I can make, til I read the caption ?," someone else mourned.
"I’d put this on a glazed donut NGL," someone else quipped.
In the end, one pointed out that it's probably "just powdered sugar and milk," and that anyone can likely recreate it in the comfort of their own kitchens.
