Silas Demary Jr., Georgia transfer guard, set to visit 4 elite programs

Silas Demary Jr. came on strong as Georgia’s second-best player during the 2024-25 season behind freshman center Asa Newell. While Newell is likely to be a Round 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Demary will almost certainly remain in college for at least another year.

However, whether or not he plays the 2025-26 season at Georgia remains to be seen. Demary is in the transfer portal (along with hundreds, if not thousands, of other players) and is scheduled to visit some big-name programs.

Per college hoops insider Jon Rothstein, who spoke with Demary’s father, the Georgia standout is visiting St. John’s and has plans to check out UConn and BYU. He will also meet with Duke:

Those are obviously some elite teams that are in the mix for Demary, who appeared in 33 games for Georgia this past season, starting all of them. He averaged 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals per contest. He also developed into a lethal 3-point shooter, knocking down 37.4% of his shots from deep.

Will he end up back at Georgia under coach Mike White? Or will he be putting on a new uniform in 2025-26? We’ll see how the next few weeks progress.
