Adrian Lewis was once handed a suspended ban as well as a fine for a heated altercation with a rival player.
The darts star’s emotions got the better of him during a UK Open qualifier against Spaniard Jose Justicia back in 2018.
Lewis was reprimanded by the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) for shoving his opponent.
‘Jackpot’ had accused Justicia of trying to ‘p*** off’ him after clinching victory in a last leg decider.
Tensions between the pair started to rise earlier in the match after Lewis took an exception to his rivals antics on the oche.
As Justicia went to walk to the board to collect his darts, the pair exchanged words as Lewis looked to the referee in protest.
Their back-and-forth continued before Justicia delayed his next turn, instead standing and laughing before throwing his last dart at a double.
Lewis went on to win the leg, levelling the match at 4-4 before turning and pointing at Justicia.
Security quickly entered the room as Lewis appeared to shove his opponent, whilst the referee attempted to restore order.
The atmosphere remained on edge throughout the remainder of the match before boiling over again after Lewis sealed victory.
Footage of the match shows both players arguing as security dragged Lewis away from the ‘Joker’.
The two-time world champion later issued an apology on social media several days after the incident.

“I realise now that I should have reported any problems to tournament officials instead of confronting Jose after the match.
“I would like to offer my sincere apologies to the PDC, the sponsors of the event, my own sponsors who I thank for their loyalty and support, my manager, darts fans and finally my family.
“I would like to say a big thank you for all of the kind messages sent to me from all over the world, and now I just want to put this all behind me and concentrate on playing the game I love and trying to make my way back to the top.”
However, his apology was not enough to avoid punishment from the DRA.
Lewis was fined £3,000 for his behaviour and was also given a three-month ban, although that was suspended for six months.

The 40-year-old is currently absent from the PDC Tour, though, having taken a break from competing back in 2023.
