Hot honey is having a moment, so much so that it’s making its way onto the menu at popular sandwich chain Subway.
Starting April 3, the national brand is introducing two new sandwiches that feature the trendy flavor, as well as a new sauce that it says brings hot honey “to the next level.”

The new sauce from Subway takes sweet honey and gives it a kick of cayenne and habanero pepper powder, while also adding in additional spices like garlic, onion, and clove.
Paul Fabre, Senior Vice President, Culinary and Innovation at Subway, said “Subway's signature sauces have become as popular as the footlong itself, elevating our freshly sliced meats and vegetables with bold and beloved flavors. Our fans know we're the sub sauce experts, which is why we're putting a Subway twist on a hot culinary trend, combining sweet honey with hot pepper and a savory blend of spices.”
Over on the sandwich side, fans can expect two new spicy and sweet options. The hot honey chicken sandwich features rotisserie-style chicken and melted Monterey cheddar cheese on Italian bread. It's topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions with a combination of the new hot honey sauce and creamy sriracha and Subway’s crispy, savory crunchy topping, SubKrunch.
The hot honey pepperoni also comes on Italian bread, but instead of chicken, it features pepperoni and provolone cheese with the hot honey sauce, as well as lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions.
The second sandwich will be part of the $6.99 Meal of the Day promotion at Subway.
