Mumbai Indians (MI) handed a debut cap to Afghanistan National Cricket Team spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the ongoing game against Gujarat Titans (GT). The match between the two teams is taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday (29th March).
Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who has been one of the finest spinners in world cricket, was handed the MI debut cap by India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma. The senior batter was seen sharing words of encouragement for the spinner before hugging him and handing him his cap.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman, however, didn't have a kind of start to his debut for Mumbai Indians as he would've wanted. The Afghanistan National Cricket Team spinner was taken to the cleaners by the Gujarat Titans openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman was asked to bowl the fifth over of the innings and he was hit for four and a six on the first two balls. The 5th ball of his innings also went for a four as the Afghanistan National Cricket Team spinner ended up giving 15 runs in the first over he bowled.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman originally wasn't part of the Mumbai Indians squad for the IPL 2025. The mystery spinner was roped in as a replacement after Allah Ghazanfar was ruled out of the league with the injury. He joined the franchise at INR 2 crore.
