The jury arrived at their decision after deliberating for three-and-a-half hours. The two wiped away tears as the verdicts were read, according to the outlet. Both had pleaded not guilty on all counts. Kingston and Turner are scheduled for sentencing on July 11.
In the meantime, the 34-year-old singer was ordered to house arrest with electronic monitoring. According to the court, he must post a bond of a home valued at $500,000 as well as $200,000 in cash.
His mother will remain in federal custody where she’ll be held until sentencing.
The mother and son were indicted by a federal grand jury in July 2024. According to the indictment, Kingston used his fame and social media presence to persuade sellers of luxury items to hand over the items before payment, per NBC.
The indictment added that Kingston’s mother would follow up with the sellers to make sure the items were delivered while the payments were made with bogus wire transfers.
Earlier this month, Kingston posted a photo of himself on Instagram with the caption, "They talk behind my back, cause they never in front??."
