Former Chennai Super Kings batter Ambati Rayudu opined that the extraoridnary backing that Dhoni gets in Chennai could be daunting for other newcomers. It is no secret that fans in Chennai are ardent supporters of the ex-CSK captain more than the franchise itself. Rayudu, who spent years at the franchise before retiring from IPL, has pointed out how CSK fans’ reaction to Dhoni is harmful for the rest of the team.

Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, Rayudu claimed that the phenomenal support for Dhoni feels pretty strage and doesn’t serve the game well. He said that it had been happening for quite a few years and that several players have felt it. His remarks come in the backdrop of Thala fans abusing Rachin Ravindra on social media for not letting the legend finish the game for CSK against MI.
“It is quite strange, and I don’t think it actually serves the game well. It is quite daunting if you’re a newcomer,” Rayudu said.

Or they are anticipating or expecting you to get out,” he added.
Dhoni the solution for Dhoni problem
Rayudu opined that the best person to address this issue was none other than Dhoni himself. He reckoned that the ex-CSK skipper speaking publicly on the issue could knock some sense into the fans.
“The best person who can address that is MS Dhoni himself. If he comes out and says, ‘they are all our players, and just like me batting they are batting in the middle’, or something like that to soothe the crowd, it will be great for the players,” he said.
