Skateboards will be rolling, wheels will be spinning, and excitement will be soaring as Oceanside unveils its newly renovated skate spot at John Landes Park.
The city is set to celebrate the grand opening on Tuesday, March 25 with a free community event of fun, creativity, and action.
The celebration kicks off at 4 p.m. with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the completion of a $487,624 renovation project. Thanks to grants from the Prop. 68 Per Capita Program, the Urban County Per Capita Program, and Housing and Urban Development’s CDBG program, the skate spot has received a much-needed upgrade — hopefully offering a smoother, safer, and more dynamic experience for Oceanside’s skating community.
But the event is more than just a ribbon-cutting — attendees can take part in art projects, live skate demonstrations, skating clinics, and, of course, plenty of skating on the new ramps and rails. Refreshments will be available.
Skaters, families, and community members are invited to head down to John Landes Park from 4 to 7 p.m. to be part of the excitement.
Whether you’re a seasoned skater or just curious to check out the new space, this celebration is one you won’t want to miss.
Grab your board, bring your energy, and join Oceanside as it officially opens a new chapter for local skaters!
