The Taco Stand, a San Diego-based eatery, recently opened a location in Oceanside – marking its 15th store.
Founded in La Jolla in 2013 by Julian Hakim and Aram Baloyan of Shōwa Hospitality, The Taco Stand was inspired by their upbringing in the lively border region of Baja California.
The new Oceanside location 1722 S Coast Highway brings all that The Taco Stand has become popular for: fresh tortillas, guacamole and salsas that are made by hand daily — capturing the essence of bustling taco stands in Northern Mexico.
“When my uncle and I opened the first location of The Taco Stand in La Jolla, we never imagined we’d be standing in front of our 15th location one day,” Hakim said. “It’s incredibly meaningful to us to have been welcomed by so many communities — San Diego, Orange County, Las Vegas, Dallas, and Miami – but San Diego is our home. Oceanside is a vibrant city and we look forward to offering our authentic Tijuana-style tacos to locals and visitors for years to come.”
The Taco Stand guests can expect fresh tacos, burritos and signature offerings such as carne asada fries, imported beer, Rosarito-style churros fried to order and a selection of locally made ice creams and paletas.
