Hold the phone! Longtime ABC News correspondent Deborah Roberts isn’t retiring, she simply moved offices along with the rest of the ABC News crew.
Roberts took to Instagram on March 17, to clarify an earlier post which some of her followers misinterpreted as a retirement announcement.

“For those who misread my last post. I’m moving in … not out! So excited for this next chapter @abcnews #mondaymood,” she captioned the post.
In the video clip accompanying the caption, Roberts explained more. “Hi there everybody, so we've landed in our new home, the Bob Iger building. ABC has relocated to downtown New York,” she said.
“And for those of you who thought I was retiring, what are you talking about? I've got too much work to do,” she added. “I'm about to go work on our podcast for this week. I have a 20/20 shoot coming up. I'm going to take you behind the scenes a little later this week so you can see what this beautiful building is all about. But in the meantime, take it easy and I'll see you soon.”
ABC’s new East Coast home is officially called the Robert. A. Iger Building and it’s named for Disney CEO Bob Iger, who served as CEO and chairman of The Walt Disney Company from 2005-2020 and returned to the company in 2022. He’s expected to step down once again at the end of 2026 when his contract expires.
Roberts, however, has no such plans and her followers are pleased with her clarification.
“Thank you!! There are stories and the clickbait reads as if you were leaving!! I am happy now gotta call my sister ??❤️,” one fan wrote.
“Enjoy your new home. How exciting. By the way, that pink sweater is gorgeous!” wrote another.
Another fan threw out some love to one of Roberts’ ABC News colleagues. “The New Chapter begins! And where’s that Hottie @davidmuirabc ????” they wrote.
