THE Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back a receiver from last year who came back after being released.
The free agent will sign a one-year deal with the team for 2025.
JuJu Smith-Schuster was part of the Chiefs team that won Super Bowl LVII two years ago.
He starred as Kansas City beat the Philadelphia Eagles in Glendale, Arizona two years ago.
A month later he signed a three-year deal with the New England Patriots worth $33 million.
The 28-yearold managed just 29 catches for 260 yards and a touchdown during the season.
He was released by the team in August last year – just one month before the season began.
Kansas City brought him back for 2024 to help ease their wide receiver injury problems.
He had 18 receptions for 231 yards and two touchdowns in 2024.
Smith-Schuster had two catches for 16 yards in the Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last month.
And he’s returning for a shot at unfinished business with the Chiefs.
He was a second-round NFL Draft pick in 2017 by the Pittsburgh Steelers and spent five seasons there.
The receiver then moved to the Chiefs and won the Super Bowl in his first season.
He’s coming back in 2025 to help Kansas City in their bid to reach a fourth straight championship game.
Kansas City has been busy reshaping it’s roster to get back to the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs also held onto Marquise “Hollywood” Brown at wide receiver.
But DeAndre Hopkins agreed to join the Baltimore Ravens to team up with Lamar Jackson.
