Pedestrian killed in Highlands Ranch crash, sheriff says

A 31-year-old man died Sunday after he was hit by a car near Civic Green Park in Highlands Ranch, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

No one else was injured in the fatal crash, including the driver, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Ryan Falkner said.

    The Douglas County Coroner’s Office will identify the pedestrian killed in the crash at a later date.

    Falkner said the crash happened early Sunday afternoon on Kendrick Castillo Way. As of 5:20 p.m. Sunday, the road remained closed between Mayberry Drive and Bristle Pine Circle for the crash cleanup and investigation.

    Information about what caused the crash was not available Sunday, but Falkner said it remains under investigation.
