Chloe Humphrey had secured a hat trick inside 18 minutes of game time, scoring her third goal at the 12:45 mark of the second quarter to give UNC a 6-0 lead. She added her fourth six minutes later, helping the Tar Heels to a comfortable 10-2 advantage by halftime. After Humphrey scored goals five and six in the second half, Nicole Humphrey put the finishing touches on the familial dominance, scoring UNC’s 18th and final goal with 13 seconds left on the clock.

In total, the three sisters scored or assisted on 12 of the 18 Tar Heel goals, including three which featured an Ashley-to-Chloe connection. Olivia Vergano also finished with a hat trick, part of an offensive attack which outshot the Tigers 20-10 in the first half.

The win is already UNC’s fifth on the season against a ranked opponent and third against an opponent ranked in the Top 10. The No. 2 Tar Heels are now 8-0 on the season and 4-0 in ACC play. Up next, they will visit Virginia Tech in Blacksburg Thursday night at 7 p.m.
