Joe Lunardi has issued an updated bracketology projection ahead of the quarterfinals of the 2025 SEC Tournament.
After Thursday’s results, Lunardi is now projecting a record-shattering 14 SEC teams to make the Big Dance. That’s due to a combination of factors, but most notably an overtime victory for Texas over rival Texas A&M on Thursday. The Longhorns have now picked up 2 Quad 1 wins in Nashville as they state their case for an at-large bid.
There’s also a lot on the line further up the seed list on Friday. Auburn can “cement” its status as the No. 1 overall seed with a win on Friday. Florida, Alabama and Tennessee are also in the mix to earn No. 1 seeds depending on how they do this weekend in Nashville.
Here’s every SEC team’s projected seed entering Friday at the SEC Tournament:
Auburn: 1 seed Florida: 1 seed Alabama: 2 seed Tennessee: 2 seed Texas A&M: 3 seed Kentucky: 3 seed Ole Miss: 5 seed Missouri: 7 seed Georgia: 9 seed Mississippi State: 9 seed Oklahoma: 10 seed Arkansas: 11 seed Vanderbilt: 11 seed Texas: 12 seedTexas is currently projected to play in Dayton as part of the ‘First Four’ prior to the start of the 1st round on Thursday. Oklahoma, Arkansas and Vanderbilt are currently slotted to receive 3 of the last 4 byes, narrowly avoiding a trip to Dayton.
The SEC is seeking to break the all-time record for March Madness bids by a single conference. The previous record is 11, set by the Big East back in 2011.
Joe Lunardi updates projected seeding for SEC teams (March 14) Saturday Down South.
