Kelly Clarkson shocked fans today when she dropped a brand new song—but it wasn't a solo effort.
After a week of concern from fans over her absence from The Kelly Clarkson Show, Rascal Flatts announced a brand new song with Clarkson in an Instagram post on Thursday, March 13, featuring a photo collage of Clarkson, Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus.

"I’ve been burdened with blame, trapped in the past for too long...'I’m Movin’ On' with @KellyClarkson coming your way Friday, 3/14! Pre-save now at the ? in bio," read the caption.
According to a press release, the track—a collaboration from the forthcoming Rascal Flatts album Life is a Highway: Refueled Duets—is a "poignant reunion of the longtime friends" that "still hits home with a soulful, heartbreaking edge 25 years after its initial release."

The initial announcement was met with excitement by fans in the comments.
"This is the most amazing collaboration ever! Can’t wait!" wrote one person.
"OMG this is going to be epic!! ????," gushed a second Instagram user.
"An absolute banger. This album was my very first CD. It can only be made better with Kelly Clarkson ?," declared someone else.
However, some commenters had mixed reactions to a second Instagram post following the track's release on Friday, March 14.
"I love Kelly, but there is not enough Gary in this version," one Rascal Flatts fan complained. "I’d love to hear Kelly and Gary harmonize and sing back and forth with each other more."
"I love Kelly clarkson and she did amazing but it felt more like a Kelly cover than a duet. Hoping the rest are more duet style like I dare you was!" someone else chimed in, referring to the already-released duet from Rascal Flatts and the Jonas Brothers, which will also be on the album.
In addition to Clarkson and the Jonas Brothers, Life Is a Highway: Refueled Duets—scheduled for release on June 6, 2025—will include collaborations with Blake Shelton, the Backstreet Boys, Jason Aldean, and others.
