POLICE REPORTS
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.
WELFARE CHECK: Caller at the intersection of East Gobbi Street and the railroad tracks requested at 4:10 a.m. March 9 a welfare check on someone lying in the roadway. An officer responded and reported that the person was fine and would be “moving along.”
STOLEN VEHICLE: Caller in the 1300 block of Yokayo Drive reported at 7:53 a.m. March 9 that a vehicle had been stolen. An officer took a report.
SHOPLIFTER: Caller at CVS on South Orchard Avenue reported at 2:53 p.m. March 9 that someone stole items. An officer responded and arrested a 33-year-old Ukiah woman for petty theft with priors.
LOUD MUSIC: Caller in the 600 block of Live Oak Avenue, near Todd Grove Park, reported at 9:09 p.m. March 9 hearing loud music in the area. An officer responded and reported that the music had been shut off prior to his arrival.
WELFARE CHECK: Caller in the 700 block of South Oak Street requested a welfare check at 11:07 a.m. March 10. An officer responded and reported that the incident was “not as reported.”
WELFARE CHECK: Caller in the 700 block of North Pine Street requested a welfare check at 11:28 a.m. March 10. An officer responded and reported that everything at the location was fine.
WOMAN IN TURN LANE: Caller in the 200 block of North Orchard Avenue reported at 7:51 p.m. March 10 that a woman was in the turn lane, blocking traffic. An officer responded and reported that the person was “counseled and moved from roadway.”
TRESPASS: Caller in the 1200 block of Airport Park Boulevard reported at 7:17 a.m. March 11 that an unwanted person was there. An officer responded and reported that the person was “counseled and moving along.”
TRESPASS: Caller at Safeway on South State Street reported at 7:19 a.m. March 11 that an unwanted person was there. An officer responded and reported that the person was “counseled and left upon request.”
TRESPASS: Caller in the 700 block of South State Street reported at 8:04 a.m. March 11 that an unwanted person was there. An officer responded and reported that the person was “counseled and moving along.”
TRESPASS: Caller in the 700 block of Waugh Lane reported at 8:14 a.m. March 11 that an unwanted person was there. An officer responded and reported that the person was “counseled and left upon request.”
TRESPASS: Caller in the 800 block of North Bush Street reported at 8:18 a.m. March 11 that an unwanted person was there. The unwanted person reportedly left before an officer was dispatched.
TRESPASS: Caller in the 100 block of Scott Street reported at 8:25 a.m. March 11 that an unwanted person was there. An officer responded and cited a 52-year-old Ukiah man for violating city camping codes.
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the UPD regarding calls handled by the Fort Bragg Police Department.
ASSAULT: Caller in the 1000 block of South Main Street reported at 12:30 p.m. March 9 that an assault occurred. An officer responded and arrested a 39-year-old Fort Bragg man for battery. He was cited and released.
CITIZEN ASSIST: Citizen in the 200 block of North McPherson Street requested at 1:35 p.m. March 9 “assistance with housing, (and) information was provided.”
TRESPASS: Caller in the 400 block of South Harold Street reported at 3:52 p.m. March 9 that her “ex-husband allowed a woman inside and she doesn’t want her there.” The caller later reported that the unwanted person left.
Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.
