Joe Lunardi updates bracketology ahead of Day 2 of SEC Tournament

Joe Lunardi is ESPN’s lead bracketology expert, so this is his busiest time of the year. He’s cranking out updated projections on a daily basis from now until Selection Sunday on March 16.

The SEC looks set to get an unprecedented number of teams into the March Madness field this year. As of Thursday morning, 13 SEC teams look like locks. If Texas can upset a ranked Texas A&M squad, the Longhorns could secure their spot in the field of 68, too.

That would shatter the Big East’s record of getting 11 teams into the 2011 NCAA Tournament. For now, though, there’s still plenty of SEC Tournament action to go in Nashville.

Here’s a look at Lunardi’s latest bracketology involving SEC teams:

Auburn — No. 1 seed (South) Florida — No. 1 seed (West) Alabama — No. 2 seed (Midwest) Tennessee — No. 2 seed (East) Texas A&M — No. 3 seed (South) Kentucky — No. 3 seed (West) Mizzou — No. 7 seed (South) Ole Miss — No. 7 seed (West) Mississippi State — No. 8 seed (East) Arkansas — No. 9 seed (South) Georgia — No. 9 seed (Midwest) Vanderbilt — No. 11 seed (East) Oklahoma — No. 11 seed (West) Texas — First Team Out

Can the Longhorns claw their way into the field? We’ll find out as SEC Tournament action continues this week.
