On Friday, the city of Greeley announced Kylie Jackson was hired as the new Director of Innovation and High Performance on Feb. 27 to run a new department created by the city.
Jackson and the new department will work to improve efficiency, technology and collaboration across city departments and fulfill the promise made by Mayor John Gates during his State of the City address in February. The department will continue the city’s ongoing efforts to improve the customer experience residents receive from the city with efforts that include a new website that will make it easier to report potholes, pay bills or apply for licenses.
Jackson previously worked as the director of the Department of Data and Innovation for the city of Sugarland, Texas. In this role, she oversaw projects that improved government transparency and streamlined operations and was instrumental in launching the city’s first open data portal.
“Kylie’s experience in government innovation and project management makes her a great fit for our leadership team,” City of Greeley Chief Information Officer Bret Naber said. “She knows how to improve city services and use data to make smart decisions. All of these will help us run efficiently and to better serve our residents.”
As Director of Innovation and High Performance, Jackson will lead a team dedicated to improving the city’s operations by updating existing processes and exploring new technologies. Her role also includes managing analysts and project managers and working together to create smart solutions that benefit residents and city employees.
“I’m excited to join the City of Greeley and find innovative ways to improve services for the community,” Jackson said. “I look forward to building on the great work already happening here.”
Jackson’s first day in her new role was February 27.
