COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- The Trump administration said it is sending a letter to Ohio State University notifying the school that it is under investigation for claims of antisemitic discrimination and harassment.
The letter comes from the United States Department of Education and warns of potential law enforcement action if Ohio State and 59 other universities do not protect Jewish students on campus under Title VI.

A spokesman for Ohio State said the university has yet to receive any letter and that hate of any kind will not be tolerated on campus.
According to Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, the letter is due to President Donald Trump’s executive order Additional Measures to Combat Anti-Semitism, signed on Jan. 29.
“The Department is deeply disappointed that Jewish students studying on elite U.S. campuses continue to fear for their safety amid the relentless antisemitic eruptions that have severely disrupted campus life for more than a year," McMahon said in a news release announcing the letters. "University leaders must do better. U.S. colleges and universities benefit from enormous public investments funded by U.S. taxpayers. That support is a privilege and it is contingent on scrupulous adherence to federal antidiscrimination laws.”
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination in educational institutions based on race, color, or national origin.
Besides Ohio State, the University of Cincinnati is the only other Ohio university listed by the department.
The universities being sent the letter, according to the department, are:
