Terry McCall of Efland won a $100,000 prize off of a $30 scratch-off ticket last week, the North Carolina Education Lottery announced Monday. McCall bought his ticket from the Graham Grocery on North Carolina Highway 54.
McCall picked up his prize Friday at the lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal taxes, McCall is taking home $71,758. He said he will use his winnings to pay bills and help his family.
The scratch-off ticket was part of the Millionaire Bucks game, which debuted in October with four $5 million top prizes and 10 $100,000 prizes. According to the lottery, three $5 million prizes and eight $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.
