CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Two people are seriously injured following a shooting in northeast Charlotte Thursday afternoon, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
CMPD reports the shooting happened around 3 p.m. Thursday, March 6, in the 500 block of Bilmark Avenue at Springfield Road. This is near Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School.
Medic reports both victims have life-threatening injuries.
CMPD said area schools are on lockdown as a precautionary measure and said the shooting did not happen on school property.
The identity of the victims or any suspects is unknown at this point.
