Osa Odighizuwa is hitting the market after a career-high 4.5 sacks while running back Rico Dowdle is also a free agent. Dallas has some huge decisions to make this offseason. Cowboys Cut Candidates

Photo: Kevin Jairaj-Imagn Images)For the Cowboys, they have to work some magic with the salary cap considering the massive deals in place for Dak Prescott ($89M cap hit), CeeDee Lamb ($35M), and Micah Parsons ($24M). And Parsons is looking for a contract extension too. Players like offensive tackle Terence Steele, safety Donovan Wilson, and safety Malik Hooker could be potential cuts to free up a little bit of money.
Steele hasn’t gotten better on the offensive line for Dallas and would clear about $4 million in cap space. The Cowboys have been terrible in the secondary which means they have to find new options to improve the unit. Getting rid of Hooker and Wilson would clear over $9 million.

Team Needs (RB, OG, DT, CB, LB)
The Cowboys need help on the offensive line and running back to improve one of the league’s worst rushing games. Dallas was 27th in rushing yards in 2024 and they could be looking to address that in the 2025 NFL Draft with a player like Ashton Jeanty.
The Cowboys also struggled on the defensive line in 2024 as they were 29th in the league in rush yards allowed. They were also last in the NFL in points. Adding players on the interior to free up Micah Parsons is a must for the Cowboys. Dallas was 30th in yards per carry and 30th in explosive run play rate.
