Who Dies in The White Lotus Season 3? Ranking the Possibilities After Episode 3

Tensions continue to rise and conflict is escalating as the guests at The White Lotus resort continue on their path towards a character death. This episode explores freedom, identity, politics and spirituality. Chelsea (Amy Lou Wood) continues to have close calls with death, Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) confronts Greg/Gary (Jon Gries) regarding whether she knows him and the walls seem to be closing in on Timothy (Jason Isaacs).

We continue to rank the possibility of each character being the one found dead at the end of the season by examining a mix of thematic impact, storyline developments and of course, some good old-fashioned vibes. I'll admit, most of the list this season has been hoping for an inversion of the first two seasons. Seasons 1 and 2 saw more sympathetic characters (Armand and Tanya) killed and that trend could certainly continue. But I'm hoping that creator Mike White gives us a something a little different this time around.

Who Dies in 'The White Lotus' Season 3? Ranking the Possibilities After Episode 3

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    19. Fabian

    Last week: 19th

Holding firm in the bottom spot on the list is the hotel manager who has appeared very briefly in all three episodes. This week, he has breakfast with Sritala before she leaves the resort.

Dom Hetrakul in 'The White Lotus'

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    18. Pornchai

    Last week: 18th

There are slight advancements in Pornchai's story this week: after a little too much to drink, perhaps he is showing that he might fancy Belinda? It's just moments later that Belinda thinks someone may be watching her, so we'll call it a red herring for Pornchai, but it's something!

Lisa Manobal in 'The White Lotus'

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    17. Mook

    Last week: 16th

I'm more worried Mook will break our hearts by declining Gaitok's offers rather than our hearts breaking over her death.

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    16. Belinda

    Last week: 15th

The biggest piece of evidence Belinda isn't the dead body is her son's reaction when he witnesses the body. He's shocked but it's a different reaction than if you saw your own mom dead. Plus, Mike White isn't going to give us back-to-back seasons of lovable returnees being killed off (or at least I hope he won't)!

Lek Patravadi in 'The White Lotus'

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    15. Sritala

    Last week: 14th

The owner of the resort still seems in danger-adjacent territory. We're still waiting for her, Jim and Rick to clash in Bangkok and until we learn more, we think Sritala is relatively safe.

Aimee Lou Wood in 'The White Lotus'

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    14. Chelsea

    Last week: 10th

Chelsea is my biggest dropped rank this week and maybe that's a surprise considering she's been held at gunpoint and was bitten by a snake, but that's exactly why she's moved down! The girl is constantly in near-death scenarios and manages to escape them! Unless we're missing the very obvious foreshadowing that the world is trying to kill her, these seem like situations to keep us rooting for Chelsea rather that signs that she's about to die.

Arnas Fedaravičius in 'The White Lotus'

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    13. Valentin

    Last week: 17th

After marinating all week on Valentin's potential involvement in the robbery, I've moved the masseuse up four spots. I think he's involved with dangerous people and may be part of the shooting that takes place, but I think the body in the river died by something else (a poison pill perhaps) so I still have Valentin in the bottom half of the list.

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    Last week: 13th

    See below.

    11. Laurie

    Last week: 12th

    See below.

Leslie Bibb in 'The White Lotus'

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    10. Kate

    Last week: 11th

I'm keeping the trio of women all lumped together for the sake of the list. I don't think any of them have that much more chance of dying over anybody and I still rate their chances of being the character who dies relatively low. Jaclyn and Laurie finished off a set of three conversations that show the gossip between these three women is deep-seeded but we don't get much more from their interactions.

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    9. Piper

    Last week: 9th

Still ranked as the least likely Ratliff to die, I have Piper holding her spot on the list. She finally makes an appointment with Luang Por Teera to chat about participating in a year-long program after college. She seems to want to keep this a secret from her family but this is about the least worrisome secrets this family might be holding, so we think Piper is likely safe.

Sam Nivola in 'The White Lotus'

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    8. Lochlan

    Last week: 8th

The youngest Ratliff son gets a lesson in posture correction this week, a metaphor that his family's expectations of him might be out of sync with what he really wants. His mother seems him having a conversation with the trans waitresses from last week's episode. There's a lot yet to explore with Lochlan and it might all come crashing down for him but there are stronger candidates on the board.

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    7. Victoria

    Last week: 5th

The danger level for Victoria is the same as always — she is someone who might be in trouble because of who she's with more so than anything she is doing. She takes a lot of pills and I'm worried our victim might take one that ends their life, but I don't think it's Victoria who will suffer because of it.

Charlotte Le Bon in' 'The White Lotus'

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    6. Chloe

    Last week: 7th

If I'm putting Chloe on the list last week because she's linked to Greg, I'm bumping her up because now she is connected to Saxon. The two make eyes at each other at dinner and I worry that she's with a man who's killed before.

Tayme Thapthimthong in 'The White Lotus'

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    5. Gaitok

    Last week: 6th

The security guard seems to be getting the attention of individuals at the resort but not the ones he wants. While his conversation with Sritala goes well at first (he offers himself as a bodyguard), the other bodyguards don't take too kindly with him getting involved.

Patrick Schwarzenegger in 'The White Lotus'

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    4. Saxon

    Last week: 3rd

I keep him high on the list if only because I think he'd be the most satisfying character death and I like to be optimistic. Getting involved with Chloe might mean a hired killer could be sent his way, courtesy of Greg.

Jon Gries in 'The White Lotus'

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    3. Greg

    Last week: 1st

Belinda talks to Greg this week but he denies ever having met her. She doesn't seem to believe him so his danger level remains high if she finds out he killed Tanya. Looks like we'll be heading to his yacht next episode (with Chloe, Rick, Chelsea, Saxon and maybe more all hopping aboard). Yacht trips have not been especially kind to White Lotus vacationers in the past.

Walton Goggins in 'The White Lotus'

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    2. Rick

    Last week: 2nd

I was tempted to move Rick up a spot because Chelsea keeps finding herself in dangerous situations and maybe he'll end up on the wrong end of the next one, but for now, he holds his runner-up position. Rick seems in danger because he seemingly wants revenge for his father but I am hoping he ends up finding out he doesn't need to kill someone to be happy.

    Fabio Lovino/HBO

    1. Timothy

    Last week: 4th

I keep thinking putting Tim at the top of the list would be too obvious. Everything in his life is going terribly (the FBI is looking for him specifically) and he needs to take pills to sleep. Every episode has ended with a shot of Timothy with this one showing him drifting off to sleep (perhaps some foreshadowing?). Could Timothy die in order to free his family of the burden he's placed on them? It might not go down like that but Timothy feels the most in-danger at this point in the season.
