Seven months after Ingrid Andress revealed that she performed the national anthem at a MLB event while she was intoxicated, the country pop singer was invited to try again at an ice hockey game held this week in Denver, Colo.
The 33-year-old singer-songwriter’s performance was captured on video in full. It began with a view of Andress from behind as she stood on the ice, a microphone clutched in her right hand as she sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” to a packed crowd at Ball Arena ahead of the Colorado Avalanche’s home game against the Minnesota Wild on Friday, Feb. 28. When she hit a high note, many people in the audience could be heard cheering—and some even started to sing along.

After Andress brought the song to an end, she was filmed walking off the ice with a huge smile on her face. She shrieked in excitement as she received words of congratulations from some of the people who were there to support her.
"We’re back baby. Thank you @coloradoavalanche ?️,” she wrote when she later shared the video on Instagram.
Several of the singer’s fans applauded her efforts in the post’s comment section as they celebrated her return.
“Honestly…. What a come back ?,” one fan wrote.
“Redemption shot! Love it! Welcome back,” another fan commented.
“So good to see you!!! I can’t imagine how nervous you had to be-that took major courage! Yayyyy ??♥️,” a third fan cheered.

While many of Andress’ social media followers praised her return, other country fans were more critical when different clips of the performance emerged on social media.
One Instagram user who commented on a video posted by the country music news website Country Chord said the Friday performance was “Still as bad as last time,” while another wrote, “Ooooooof.”
“Maybe she should just not sing the song,” one Instagram user suggested.
“Not sure the anthem is her thing,” another Instagram user agreed.
Andress’ latest national anthem performance occurred about seven months after she bewildered fans with her rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the MLB’s Home Run Derby in July 2024. The next day, Andress offered an explanation on Instagram as she revealed that she “was drunk last night.”
“I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need,” she told fans at the time. “That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I’ll let y’all know how rehab is I hear it’s super fun.”
