Since Baylen Out Loud premiered on TLC in January 2025, Tourette syndrome advocate Baylen Dupree has gained even more social media followers—however, she recently sent a direct message to fans about an "offensive" trend.

"Hi, everybody. I want to talk about how there's a trend going around, saying—after watching Baylen Out Loud—they're going around mimicking all of my tics," she said.

Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder that causes involuntary vocal sounds and movements (called tics) that can range from mild to severe, per the Cleveland Clinic.

"I wanted to say I love all of you and thank you for the support and everything in between those lines," Dupree continued. "However, it is extremely uncomfortable and can even set my own tics off even more. And it's offensive to mimic someone else's tics."

Additionally, she explained, "Tourette syndrome is not a joke. It's not something to mimic. And it's something extremely difficult that I live with every single day."

Dupree also noted in the video's caption, "Again thanks for all the love & support but my job is to spread awareness about this very complex condition & help educate others on something that can be so easily misunderstood. ❤️."

In the comments, TikTok users joined Dupree in dissuading the behavior.

One wrote, "In your show, you've clearly stated that you dislike when people mimic your tics. It's so rude and disrespectful that people are doing this."

Another confessed, "I'm sorry...I'm guilty but only at home. I'll stop."

Someone else commended Dupree for addressing the issue, commenting, "I was so bothered seeing those posts/videos. I'm glad you are setting this boundary and speaking out for yourself."
