‘White Lotus’ Stars Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey Criticized Over This Big Detail ...Saudi Arabia

The White Lotus is back with a third season, but this time around, the acclaimed HBO drama is also receiving a bit of criticism from fans online.

In the latest season, set in Thailand, Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey portray a wealthy couple from North Carolina who travel to the resort with their three adult children, played by Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Sam Nivola.

The only problem is that some fans aren’t thrilled with Isaacs and Posey’s accents, which are put on because he’s British and she’s from Louisiana.

“I’m sorry but neither her nor Jason Isaacs sound like they are from North Carolina and neither of them stay consistent on whatever accent they are attempting. I live in the south, actors never seem to get it right it’s always either inconsistent or a cartoon,” wrote one fan on X, formerly Twitter.

“Haha. I immediately thought of Daniel Craig in Knives Out when I heard him,” responded another.

Others simply said it was "so bad" and "terrible" that it sounded like he was "fighting for his life." A handful more even admitted they mistook it for an "Australian or New Zealand accent."

Both Isaacs and Posey have addressed their accents on the show and the inspiration behind them.

“I had to do Durham, N.C., which is very specific,” Isaacs said in a TikTok video earlier this month. “It sounds a lot like the other Southern accents, but it’s got two vowels in it that sound like upper-class English. So, it is weird because nobody listening is used to it, only the people who live locally.”

“I love an accent. I’ve had dozens of my own accents in life. I start with the voice always,” added the 61-year-old who portrays businessman Timothy Ratliff on the show.

Isaacs also revealed that he based his accent on the Bravo reality series Southern Charm.

Posey, 56, also revealed how she found the voice of her character Victoria Ratliff. “I wanted to bring like a snotty affect,” she told Variety in an interview published in mid-February. “I’ve met some really wealthy people and Southerners that are almost affected so that’s what I did.”
