Kendrick Lamar hits another major milestone just weeks after Super Bowl halftime show controversy and apology storm

KENDRICK Lamar has replaced himself at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

The rapper, 37, made headlines when he performed alongside SZA at the Super Bowl earlier this month.

His Drake diss track, “Not Like Us”, has been at No.1 in recent weeks.

But this time around, it has been displaced by “Luther”.

Named after Luther Vandross, the song samples music from the late soul singer.

Having already been in the charts for 13 weeks, Luther has now leapfrogged “Not Like Us” into first position.

Luther had already surpassed Not Like Us at No.1 on US Spotify.

It did so just days after the Super Bowl.

Lamar is dominating the Billboard Hot 100.

In addition to Luther and Not Like Us, Lamar is also at No.4 with “TV Off” and No.5 with “Squabble Up”.

Lamar is set to tour alongside SZA this summer.

During their tour, the superstar duo will perform at two Premier League soccer stadiums.

They will play Aston Villa‘s Villa Park on July 10.

While they have two nights booked at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 22 and 23.

Lamar will also perform at the homes of soccer teams in Barcelona, Rome, Amsterdam and Glasgow.

Lamar’s Super Bowl performance became the most watched halftime show since Michael Jackson‘s in 1993.

The star-studded production was watched by an average viewership of 133.5 million.

Lamar’s performance was actually watched by a higher average viewership than the game itself.

Per Front Office Sports, the game averaged 127.7 million viewers.

Despite its huge viewership, figures within the NFL have expressed regret at choosing Lamar for the performance.

A staffer said officials wish they went with Lil Wayne for the job after some fans were underwhelmed with Kendrick’s show.

“A mistake was made and we regret the choice that was made,” an NFL employee told The U.S. Sun.
