The surging mercury in San Diego County will bring significant inland warming Wednesday before Santa Ana winds cool those areas, according to the National Weather Service.
The wind event will arrive late Wednesday night through Thursday, with gusts of 35 to 45 mph along and below the coastal mountain slopes, the NWS said.
High temperatures Wednesday are expected to reach 76 near the coast, 80 to 85 inland, 84 to 89 in the western valleys, 75 to 82 in the mountains and 88 to 92 in the deserts.
Friday and into next week, a series of low pressure systems moving inland along the West Coast will usher in cooler temperatures, increased cloud cover and the potential for precipitation, according to meteorologists.
