While Melania Trump's Inauguration Day ensemble was met with mixed reactions (critics compared her outfit to something the Hamburglar would wear), the First Lady's fans were in favor of her look at the recent White House National Governors Association Dinner.
In photos from the event, held on Saturday, Feb. 22, Melania wore a black velvet tuxedo with satin lapels from Dolce & Gabbana, according to WWD. The outfit was reminiscent of her 2025 White House portrait attire, which consisted of a Dolce & Gabbana blazer with Ralph Lauren cummerbund and trousers.

Melania was seen in Dolce & Gabbana multiple times during Donald Trump's first stint in the White House as well, such as during her 2019 meeting with the late Queen Elizabeth.

On X, fans raved about the monochromatic getup.
"You are absolutely stunning in that tuxedo suit!!! Classy and gorgeous!!! wrote one person.
"Thank you!! I love the tuxedo look!! Very classy!" gushed a second commenter.
"Stunning as always Melania!" another fan chimed in, with someone else calling Melania a "beautiful hostess."
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino thanked Melania and Donald for hosting the dinner in another post on X, sharing a video from the event of the U.S. Army Chorus performing "Do You Hear the People Sing?" from the musical Les Misérables.
"It was a great honor to attend this evenings Governors Ball at the @WhiteHouse, hosted by @FLOTUS Melania and @POTUS @realDonaldTrump—thank you!" Scavino wrote in his caption.

The lyrics include, "Do you hear the people sing? / Singing the song of angry men?/ It is the music of the people / Who will not be slaves again!"
