Alec Baldwin was targeted by a heckler in front of his New York City home—and the tense interaction left fans divided.
The actor was unloading luggage from an SUV on a Manhattan street when comedian Jason Scoop approached him in a video posted to Instagram on Monday, Feb. 24.

“Alec, it’s your favorite president!” said Scoop while dressed as President Donald Trump in a blond wig and navy blue suit.
“Look, Alec, I will offer you a total pardon ’cause I wanna be friends, right? I wanna be friends. I will give you a total pardon for murdering that woman if you kiss the ring,” he continued, referencing the tragic accidental shooting death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Baldwin, who was holding the prop gun when it fired, was charged with involuntary manslaughter but pleaded not guilty, claiming he didn't know the weapon was loaded with live ammunition. The case was later dismissed.
As Scoop continued, Baldwin remained silent.
“Look at Alec Baldwin, right? He did that impersonation of me," Scoop said. "It was not too hot, not too good. But look, we’re back in office. You lost. Kamala [Harris] lost. She’s somewhere getting intoxicated."
“Well, Alec, if you don’t want that pardon for murdering that woman in cold blood—you can call it first-degree, you can call it whatever you want, but it was not good. She’s looking down on me right now, smiling, happy. ‘Thank you for confronting the man who took me out, who killed me.'”
Finally, Baldwin addressed Scoop.
“Look at me. I want you to look at me,” he said.
“You got a camera on me here? You realize my kids live in this building? But I want you to know something. I want you to be real careful. If this camera wasn’t here, I’d snap your f--king neck in half and break your f--king neck right here. You know that, don’t you?” Baldwin asked.
Scoop stayed in character as Trump as he spoke to the camera.
“OK, Alec Baldwin. All right, Alec Baldwin. Alec Baldwin, ladies and gentlemen! Class act! Believe me,” he said.
“I want you to get out of here,” Baldwin said, adding, "I'll take that camera and shove it up your a--," before he walked away.

On Instagram, fans had mixed reactions to Scoop's stunt, with many saying that the comedian's approach was insensitive.
"This is just stupid and not funny at all," one person wrote.
"I was a huge fan of yours, but you took this too far and too personal with him. Not cool," agreed a second.
"I love your videos, but this one was rough, dude. I don’t understand the whole argument about him killing the girl. It was clearly an accident. He didn’t know there was a bullet inside and probably feels absolutely horrible for killing her," argued someone else, with another commenter slamming Scoop for his "horrendous impression" and "cruel harassment."
"Honesty I don’t like Baldwin at all, but this comedian was out of line," an additional Instagram user declared.
Some people thought Scoop's bit was funny, however.
"Absolutely epic. Dude has anger management issues," wrote one fan, with another calling the video "hands down, the best thing I’ve ever seen on social media."
Scoop responded to the controversy with a post on his Instagram Stories, writing, "To people saying I should sue Alec Baldwin for threatening to kill me, I don't believe in suing people. Just seems scummy. I don't want to sue anyone."
Reps for Baldwin and Scoop did not immediately respond to Parade's request for comment.
