New Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen spoke to the media on Tuesday at the 2025 NFL Combine.

– The NFL combine has been a great opportunity for the Jaguars’ staff “to get into the weeds” with each other. Coen adds that they’ve taken their whole process and moved it to Indianapolis this week, including free agency scouting meetings among the coaching staff and personnel department.
– “We’ve gotta have patience with these guys,” says Coen about evaluating quarterback prospects in the NFL draft. He notes that the emphasis on no-huddle usage in high school and in college contributes to that.
– “It’s our job as coaches to play with the players that we have and pivot,” says Coen.
– Coen says that how he and offensive coordinator Grant Udinski operate is very similar. “He’s all ball,” says Coen, adding that he’s a great communicator and very intelligent.
– Coen highlights all the different roles that Brian Thomas can fill within the offense. “Our pass game will run through him.”
– “We want to have Trevor’s input,” said Coen about building the roster, specifically with some of the skill players and the offensive line. Coen adds that they aren’t going to put too much on him either.
– “Very much so,” said Coen about the Rams’ influence on him and the coaching staff. He adds that it won’t be identical in Jacksonville, but there are foundational pieces they can implement to make it their own with the Jaguars.
– “Hunger, want to, guys that are trying to prove it,” said Coen about assembling his coaching staff. He adds that there is a lot of experience on the coaching staff even though it is a younger group.
– The Jaguars will have core fundamentals and non-negotiables when it comes to their principles as an organization, but Coen adds that it’s “players, not plays,” and it’s his job to adapt as needed.
