Good morning, Winners! Well, it’s a good morning for everyone except the Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavs will travel to Los Angeles tonight to face their scorned ex, which is never something anyone wants to do.

Luka Doncic will play against Dallas for the first time since being traded to the Lakers and, well, this probably won’t go over well for Dallas.

That slow start that Doncic had with LA is over. He led the Lakers over the Nuggets on Saturday night with 32 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and four steals in his first game since being taken off of a minutes restriction following his return from injury.

If that’s what he did against Denver with no motivation at all, what on earth do you think he’ll do against the team that has been telling everyone who will listen that Doncic is so lazy and out of shape that they thought getting rid of him was the best idea?

The Mavs think Doncic is so toxic that the organization didn’t even care that he’d just led them to the NBA Finals not even one season ago. Think about that, man. That’s wild.

Let me be very clear here. I am still praying for the Lakers’ downfall. I’m tired of this team getting star after star for absolutely no reason other than the basketball gods wanting the rest of us to be miserable while Lakers fans all recreate the Lakers Chain Guy meme in the mirror after every game.

What makes it worse is that the flames of collusion are still being stoked. Rob Pelinka and Nico Harrison are hanging out because, obviously, they’re BFFs.

But who would I be if I denied the delectable revenge game that those same basketball gods that hate the rest of us so much have blessed us with? I can’t do that in good conscience.

Even if it’s just for one night only, I will be rooting for a Luka 70-ball with 20 rebounds and 15 assists. Whether the Lakers win or not is immaterial to this. I don’t care. I just want to see Doncic shoot 50 shots tonight out of spite.

The best part of the revenge tour beginning here is that this is a Lakers home game. Just wait until Doncic returns to Dallas. Not only will the team catch another 50 shots from Luka, but the fans in Dallas will probably be cheering for the Lakers. It sounds strange, but we’ve already seen them openly protest the organization as is. Mavs fans are roasting their own team at this point.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE: Mavericks fans refuse to take the Luka trade without making a fuss about it.

Tonight’s game will be a super late one on the East Coast. It tips off at 10 p.m. I know, I know. You’ve got a bedtime.

But trust me — you don’t want to miss this one.

    White House Drama

So it appears that the drama surrounding an Eagles White House visit may be over.

A new report from the NFL’s Ian Rapoport nips things in the bud. Our Tyler Nettuno has more detail here:

“According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, a team source said the Eagles would be “honored” to accept an invitation to the White House. The source also appeared to confirm that an invitation has not yet been extended.

Earlier this month, a report from The Sun indicated that the team wouldn’t accept an invitation. After no updated reporting, Front Office Sports offered on Monday that there is no invitation yet to decline and that an NFL source foresaw the Eagles accepting one if offered”

Let’s see how this all plays out. As Tyler notes in his article, the Eagles were invited after winning the Super Bowl in 2017 but the team was later disinvited after the Trump administration learned only a few players would be showing up.

We’ll see how things go here.

    The fastest baby ever

The Pelicans hosted a baby crawl competition for their halftime entertainment and discovered one of the future greatest athletes we’ve ever seen.

Not sure what sport this kid will play, but he’s definitely playing a sport.

That baby just crawled a 4.30 flat 40-yard dash. Somebody get this kid a scholarship somewhere. Better yet, just sign him to a contract now. He’ll be ready to play in another 20 years.

Again, this is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. But LeBron James should be shaking in his boots right now. He’ll could have some clear competition by the time he’s 60 years old.

Quick hits: Angel Reese’s glow-up … Ovi’s chase for The Great One … and more

    — Meghan Hall wrote about how Unrivaled and Lisa Leslie have seemingly helped Angel Reese become a better finisher around the rim.

    — Prince Grimes has pinpointed where Alex Ovechkin will officially break Wayne Gretzky’s goal record.

    — The Phillies’ POOP scoreboard is going down the drain. Charles Curtis has more.

    — Here are all the teams that will probably want the Eagles’ Tush Push banned, according to Robert Zeglinski. Booooo Packers.

    — Woj is selling you his old newsbreaking gear and, well, this is extremely weird.

    — Phil Jackson’s old rule has identified three title contenders for this NBA season. We’ll see if it holds up this time.

That’s a wrap, folks. Thanks so much for reading. Peace.
