Jon Stewart found himself the victim of his own heated monologue during the latest episode of The Daily Show when he accidentally sliced his hand open in front of his live studio audience.
During his opening segment, Stewart jokingly took on the role of a DOGE employee, where he decided to "noodle some ideas" to increase governmental efficiency.

He whipped out a calculator and mug reading "World's Most Dad" from underneath his desk and got to calculating, offering tax-payer-saving options for several minutes.
Next, the show aired a clip of former President Joe Biden discussing the results of his negotiations to lower the price of several prescription medications.
Stewart pointed out sarcastically that "the companies we subsidize with billions of dollars are allowing us the privilege to negotiate the price of 10 of their drugs. Additionally, he noted it "would be embarrassing if it was a small drop in the bucket, and that the American people didn’t expect that we should negotiate for all their...drugs, because we have already paid for them with our subsidies!"
"It's insane!" Stewart seethed as he took his mug and smashed it down into the hard surface of his desk, squeezing his hand around the broken ceramic as he continued. "Come on!"
As he calmed down, he seemed to feel the sting of it, casually glancing down at his palm before withdrawing it behind his desk.
"I'll be going to the hospital soon," he laughed before launching back into his pharmaceutical tirade.
He later pulled his hand back up to check on it, revealing blood dripping down one of his fingers as he clutched a paper towel.
“Ohhh,” the audience groaned in concern, to which he yelled, “It’s fine!!”
He didn’t provide the audience with a direct view of his palm so it’s unclear how deep the laceration may have been. Whether he will ultimately need stitches or he can get by with a bandaid, fans were impressed with the way he continued the show.
“Cuts hand by rage smashing a mug and completes the monologue without missing a beat,” one wrote, telling him, “Maestro, take a bow!”

“The group ‘Ohhh...’ followed by Jon's ‘ITS FINE!’ kills me,” someone else laughed.
“Kudos to Jon for not skipping a beat, I bet that stung,” another complimented, while someone else declared, “That cup smash is legendary.”
“Fkn legend bled for the monologue,” another agreed.
“Keep it coming and get well soon, Jon,” one concluded.
