UNC Men’s Basketball Shoots Past Florida State, Wins 4th Straight Game

Carolina shot 55.2 percent as a team and knocked down 10 three-pointers to beat Florida State 96-85 in Tallahassee Monday night. It’s the team’s fourth straight win, which ties a season high.

R.J. Davis led the Tar Heels with 20 points, and in the process passed Wake Forest’s Dickie Hemric to move into third place on the ACC’s all-time scoring list. Seth Trimble added 17, while Jae’Lyn Withers (11), Elliot Cadeau (10), Ven-Allen Lubin (10) and Jalen Washington (10) each also reached double figures.

Carolina still has not lost to Florida State in head coach Hubert Davis’ four seasons with the Tar Heels, having won all six meetings.

The win improves UNC to 18-11 overall and 11-6 in ACC play. The Tar Heels will be back in action when they host Miami at the Smith Center Saturday at 12 p.m.
