Firefighters Stop Flames in Remote Area of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park

Cal Fire San Diego firefighters stopped the progress of a quarter-acre vegetation fire in a remote area of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park late Sunday evening.

The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. Sunday as one-half acre and slow-moving, fire officials said.

    Hand crews were ordered because the area was so remote. No evacuations were ordered and no structures were threatened.

    Within the hour, Cal Fire reported that the progress of the fire had stopped and the damage was more accurately mapped at one quarter acre.

    No injuries were reported.
