— Oklahoma Basketball (@OU_MBBall) February 22, 2025Oklahoma led by 14 points with 2:59 remaining, but this game ended up much closer than that. The Bulldogs rallied to make it a 3-point game with under 30 seconds to go, but Oklahoma was eventually able to finish off the contest at the foul line.
Freshman guard Jeremiah Fears had one of his best games of the season. He scored 27 points and chipped in 10 assists as well as the Bulldogs had no answer for his ability to get into the paint. He also went to the foul line 14 times on the night.
Jalon Moore struggled in the 1st half, but scored 15 after the break as he helped the Sooners secure a huge win. Sam Godwin also turned in another double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.
Oklahoma is now 4-10 in SEC play, but is still alive on the NCAA Tournament bubble thanks to a few key wins during nonconference play. The Sooners have victories over Michigan, Arizona and Louisville on their résumé to help make up for the lack of success vs. SEC opponents.
OU will still likely need a couple more wins in order to feel good on Selection Sunday, however. Next up is Kentucky at home on Wednesday.
