College GameDay on Saturday spoke about Alabama‘s two-game losing streak and whether or not Crimson Tide fans should be alarmed with the NCAA Tournament just weeks away.
The Tide surged to a 10-1 start in SEC play. But they fell 94-85 at home to Auburn on Feb. 15 and dropped a 110-98 decision at Mizzou on Thursday. Does that mean bad news for their prospects in March, or can they course correct?
“Personally, I think I’m a little bit worried about Alabama,” Jay Williams said. “I know the way last year finished and how they got to the Final Four. But I think as you become more successful individuals with NIL deals and attention, I think that attention can affect the team and how they’re moving forward.”
“My concern is this late in the season, I know they flipped it around last year, Nate (Oats) is still trying to figure out his team,” Seth Greenberg added. “I think Nate’s got to figure out a mixture of not just his starting lineup, but when he subs in as the game goes along, making sure he doesn’t have lineups that are really deficient defensively. I think he will figure it out because the guy’s a savant.”
Jay Bilas, meanwhile, felt that the losing streak is nothing to worry about.
“Bump in the road. They’re going to be fine. They’re legit,” he said. “They lost to No. 1 Auburn and they lost on the road to a team that’s now in the top 10 in Missouri. … Missouri is legit. And they’re really difficult to play (at home).”
