While entire India was busy in the IND vs BAN Champions Trophy match in Dubai on Thursday, PCB seemed to have other commitments. As per a report in ESPNCricnfo, it seems that the Pakistani board complained to the ICC, over the missing “Pakistan” name from the live broadcast of the encounter.
While “Pakistan” was visible in the first match of the CT 2025 — between PAK and New Zealand, the same wasn’t the case with the second match of the tournament. In fact, this was also visible during Friday’s encounter between Afghanistan and South Africa, but was surprisingly missing from the India-Bangladesh fixture.
Meanwhile, the PCB has asked an explanation from the ICC for the same, and also an assurance, that the same won’t happen again. It seems that the ICC has told the board that it was a technical error. The PCB is not really satisfied with the reasoning, since the graphics are prepared well in advance.
The India vs Pakistan clash will take place in Dubai on Sunday, and will be 2nd fixture for both teams. Rohit Sharma’s men have already won the first match, while Rizwan’s team is yet to open the account.
Having said that, this isn’t the first time when India has managed to irritate the PCB. Long after all arrangements were put into place for the Champions Trophy, India clarified, they won’t send the team to the neighbour nation due to security issues. Finally, it was decided that both countries would only play at neutral venues for the next three years.
