Nandankanan Zoo Aviary Closed Amid Bird Flu Scare

The walk-though aviary of Nandankanan zoo has been shut down amid bird flu outbreak in India. The aviary has been closed for an indefinite period for visitors. Though there is no outbreak of bird flu in Odisha so far, the step is a precautionary measure. For early detection of bird flu cases, five teams have been constituted for surveillance of poultry shops. A state control room has also been set up to report any signs of unnatural death of birds.
