OAKLAND — A suspect has been arrested in the Jan. 30 fatal shooting of rapper Too Short’s older brother, and additional suspects are being sought, police announced Friday.
The suspect, 33-year-old Maijji Ahmad Jackson, is being held without bail on suspicion of murder and burglary at Santa Rita Jail.
As of Friday morning, he had not yet been formally charged in the killing and is due to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.
Police have not said what led them to arrest Jackson.
Police did not provide details on the suspects still being sought.
Jackson was arrested Thursday in Oakland in the killing of Wayne Shaw, 61, who was shot multiple times around 7 a.m. Jan. 30 during an attempted burglary at a marijuana grow building in the 1200 block of 49th Avenue.
Shaw’s involvement with the weed grow has not been confirmed.
He was inside the building when a vehicle rammed the building to get inside, police said. He was shot when he came outside and died later at a hospital..
