VERIZON has quietly increased its pricing for a specific plan that will go into effect starting next month.
Consumers are fuming over the move, threatening to leave the wireless carrier for good in favor of another brand.
Those who currently have Verizon’s Mobile Protect Multi-Device plan with four to 20 lines will see an $8 increase, per a brochure from the company.
The price bump officially starts on March 27, and customers who only have two or three lines with the plan won’t see any increase at all.
Current costs for two lines with the Mobile Protect Multi-Device plan is $38 and for three it’s $57.
A QR code was also provided in the brochure for customers to ask Verizon more questions about their specific plan and the increase.
The same thing is also happening with Verizon’s Mobile Secure Multi-Device Plan.
Again, customers with four to 20 lines will pay $8 more starting March 27, up from $21.60 to $29.60.
Those with two and three lines are again, unaffected.
Customers who were already notified of the impending price bump from Verizon have blasted the cellular carrier online.
“In other words, we’re screwing you,” a furious Verizon member, Don, wrote in a post on Facebook this month.
Others said they’d already left Verizon after previous increases and encouraged Don to do the same.
“That’s why my wife switched us all over years ago,” a former customer commented.
SWITCH AND SAVE?
Someone else recommended Xfinity from Comcast specifically, noting that it was effectively the “same service for like half the price.”
If the consumer is referring to the Xfinity Mobile Protection Plan, the cost difference might not be as much as they claim.
Xfinity’s plan charges per device every month, with prices of $9, $15, $17, or $19, depending on the phone or gadget.
SWEET SAVINGS
There are still several deals customers can get from Verizon. Several promotions from the company are going on right now.

It would be worth it for customers who only have four devices if they all qualify for the $9 rate plus taxes with Xfinity, for example.
That comes out to what would likely be around $40, a savings of $28 in comparison to the new increased price from Verizon for four to 20 devices with the Mobile Protect Multi-Device plan.
Still, add devices or keep the same amount of devices at the $19 rate, and customers might pay more than Verizon.
Either way, this is the second price hike from Verizon in about two months.
PAY UP
In December, the company implemented a 20-cent increase, with users paying $3.50 per voice line and $1.60 per data line, according to what Verizon spokesperson George Koroneos confirmed to The U.S. Sun.
“Starting December 18, the monthly Verizon wireless Administrative and Teleco Recovery Charge will increase by $0.20 per line for mobile voice (basic phones, Second Number, smartphones, etc.) and data-only (hotspots, tablets, etc.) products,” Koroneos said.
“Verizon Home Internet services are not affected.”
Amid the increase, customers were furious in a thread on Reddit.
“The Greed is insane,” someone commented.
“They’ll see when everybody moves to another carrier that they’re not that great,” another raged.
Verizon also caught backlash after a different price uptick in October.
Some customers also got a check from the company after a $100 million settlement.
