BRITAIN’S best boozers have been mapped – and 10 of them are Wetherspoons.
As Google Maps turned 20 years old on February 8, the navigating platform released the 20 most popular pubs across the UK.
Pictures, reviews and ratings have been compiled to calculate which boozers Brits are favouring.
And it appears pubgoers are more than happy to be standing on those funky Wetherspoons carpets when tasting their tipples.
From swanky London gastropubs to old-timey taverns dripping with characters, here are Google Maps’ best pubs to visit in the UK.
1. The Standing Order, Edinburgh
Standing at number one is a Scottish gem, and indeed a JD Wetherspoons pub.
The Standing Order menu can be perused right from your phone so you can check out the best of Britain from anywhere in the world.
As a converted bank, it still has stunning vaulted ceilings and a cosy library room to snuggle up in.
It even boasts the original vault which looks like the entrance to a James Bond lair.

One Google review gushed: “This was a superb pub for drinking, showing beautiful architecture underneath its glass roof.

With a rating of 4.2 from 11,600 reviews, The Standing Order has been officially crowned number one.
2. The Velvet Coaster, Blackpool
Coming runner-up is the Velvet Coaster in Blackpool, nestled on the coast right next to Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
As another JD Wetherspoons pub it offers multiple rooms, an easy-to-use menu and a range of classic bites to eat.
For those who want to make the most out of that beach view, the venue has a big beer garden and a roof terrace.

The Velvet Coast has an average rating of 4.3 on Google form 11,145 reviews.

3. The Counting House, Glasgow
Google has revealed the top three pubs in Britian are JD Whetherpoons, as The Counting House makes it on to the podium.
Another Scottish jewel and another converted bank, this boozer also boasts a vault that you even go into.
The underground banking vaults offer a secret room to sneak into after ordering your fish and chips.
In the middle of the venue is an Italian Renaissance style dome ceiling acting as a glam centrepiece for the pub.

4. Anchor Bankside, London
Breaking the pattern is Anchor Bankside – the first pub on the list that is not a Wetherspoons.
This Greene King boozer is tucked next to the river in Southwark, offering serene Thameside views and refreshing drinks to go with them.
The website claims it is “the sole survivor of the river taverns of Shakespeare’s time.”

5. The Albert & The Lion, Blackpool
In fifth place, we’re back on the Whetherspoon-wagon with The Albert and The Lion in Blackpool.
With a knack for taking up historic and beloved venues, this boozer doesn’t disappointed – replacing a gone-but-not-forgotten Woolworths store.
On the promenade next to Blackpool Tower is competes with The Velvet Coaster but offers a slightly alternative style.
